Oh yeah, now we, as in me & jeline don't have to squint our eyes anymore. Today I wanna talk about zombies. Oh yes, ppl. ZOMBIES. Jeline's fav. LOL. I happen to read this book called "The Boy Who Can't Die." & the story was about zombies. Well, it's a myth actually but we'll nvr know. If Chris Angel in Mindfreak could fly in mid-air, why can't we believe that zombies and ghosts & all these do exists? Anyway, the story was soooooooo scary. Well, in movies it's quite logical if you close your eyes to avoid watching what happen next but reading a book & you're scared to read the next line? HMMMMMM, that's pretty stupid right. HAHA. But that's me. It was so scary. How the writer desribe & such. OHH MAAN, the thrill of reading HORROR. Anyway, back to the topic. There are two voodoo priests, the Houngans & the Bokors. The Hougans as the book said DONT practice black magic BUT the Bokor does. For me, even if they do or don't practice black magic, both are threatening itself by just the word "voodoo priests" so WHO CARES IF THEY USE BLACK MAGIC OR NOT?! BOTH ARE STILL DANGEROUS, THEY'RE VOODOO PRIESTS FOR GOD SAKE. Anyway, there are also two zombies.. A cadavre zombies & an astral zombies. Ok, this is what the book said. A cadavre zombie is made out of the soul of somebody who really died. It can only go where the body goes. An astral zombie is made out of the soul of somebody very close to death, who appears to be dead and usually gets buried. Then the Bokor digs the person up and wakes him up. And the Bokor keeps his soul, the ti bon ange, which has been loosened from the body in its near-death state. The Bokor can then send the soul anywhere to do what it wants, far away from the body. COOL isn't it? I wiki-ed the Zombies & it is really there. I mean the myth & the Bokor & the Hougans. I wonder if all this does really happen to someone? It'll be so scary. & about the book. It was about this stupid rich kid who is called Ken who didnt want to die after seeing what happen to his best friend who died in a plane crash. So, he went to this lady called Cheri Buttercup & of course she did some ritual thing on him to keep his soul away. After that, he was invulnerable! He can't feel a thing even love. He can't be stabbed to death & all this. But when he goes to sleep, he'll dream of terrible things like he'll kill somebody & the dream really comes true. So he went to this island to go scuba diving & his motive is actually to encounter a shark. & yes, the shark didn't kill him. I feel bad for the shark & its teeth. Anyway, over there, he meets this girl(the part where jeline hates. LOL.) called Sabine. Sabine knew about all this Bokor & stuffs & helped him to find his soul. They had to go through a lot of hard things to overcome all the obstacle & when they found the cave where Ken's soul is hidden in a bottle, there were not only one, but i dont know.. hundreds of bottles? So they retrieve back Ken's soul & promised to rescue all the other bottles. Ken's parents got to know what happen when Ken went on his trip with Sabine to rescue his soul. Cheri Buttercup tried to extort money from Ken's parents but of course in the later part of the book, she was caught by the police. & when they went to rescue the other bottles, a guardian which Ken killed in his dreams was there to prevent any intruders from coming in. It attacked Sabine but she was not even a bit hurt because SHE'S A ZOMBIE HERSELF!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! I think the book is a pleasure to read. If you guys wanna read it, it's called The Boy Who Couldn't Die by William Sleator. |
